Gender equality seems to many just a theory to be studied but not actualized. Gender assumptions prove to be lethal in the family, community, and even in today's business sector. People do not get what they work for. There is no escaping the clutches of gender inequality when people blindly take the case. The present times have seen the rise of women like never before witnessed. The women of the new millennia have made it their singular goal in life to compete with men head on. They are proving to the world that they are also deserving of the place of men in the society.

People have always delegated tasks depending on the physical and emotional characteristics of men and women. The modern world is brave and defiant. A critical mind is the answer to the sufferings and limitations of people. Society has seemed to have constructed a man and a woman in very different and unfair molds. The assignment of roles is thought to be beneficial to both genders when in fact it only women to be limited and men to be unrightfully proud.

Gender assumptions have caused women to change hearts and stick to what the society would approve of. However, some found this thing called inequality a challenge which they aim to conquer. There are brave women who are not thwarted by the glass ceiling especially in the business sector where women are supposed to reach only a certain position and never rise again. Social movements and legislations have tried time and again, some tactfully and others unsuccessfully, to bring change to the prevailing beliefs and assumptions.

The business sector has made it difficult for women to rise into power because men seem to think that though women can join the workforce, there are still boundaries for them. Promotions take longer for women because of the old dictates and assumptions based on physical and emotional limitations of "wombed" gender.

Men make it a point to put a stop to a woman's career when that woman has reached a level that is nearing theirs. Business and other sectors place a glass ceiling which makes it all the more difficult if not impossible for women to be their best and get to their well-deserved place. With this spectacle men are proudly showing, women have become driven and almost obsessed to climb above the glass ceiling and prove men wrong. There are actors affecting the professional growth of women in the business world. Education has propelled women to compete with men. There are more and more women enrolled in universities that education has finally proved to be one of the greatest equalizer. Although in the business arena, men still get higher wages than women who have the same qualifications. These biases are very much out in the sun and yet should-be-responsible and concerned people from the business sector are turning the other cheek. That is why invisible barriers are strongly being fought against the modern women so that the next generation would live better n the business world.
